Our Approach
At Central Texas Orthodontics, we believe everyone deserves a confident, healthy smile. Orthodontic treatment is an investment – not just in appearance, but in long term health – and we are here to make that investment as manageable as possible.
We will walk you through every step, help you understand your insurance benefits, and create a plan that fits your life.
Accepted Payment Methods
- Cash or Check
- Credit Card: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express
- Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Do We Accept Insurance?
Yes! We work with most all PPO dental insurance plans that include orthodontic benefits and we are in-network with several providers.
At your consultation, we will:
- Review your benefits
- Estimate your coverage
- Explain what your insurance may contribute
Our goal is simple: help you maximize your benefits without the confusion.
How Orthodontic Insurance Works
Orthodontic insurance works differently than regular dental or medical coverage:
Most plans:
- Pay benefits over time (monthly, quarterly, or yearly)
- Continue payments throughout treatment
- Stop payments if the policy ends or changes
This means your benefit is typically spread out – not paid all at once.
If Your Insurance Changes
If your insurance changes during treatment, the remaining benefits from your original plan may stop. A new plan may or may not cover treatment already in progress, also called Work-In-Progress. Some policies allow coverage for work-in-progress treatment, but not all policies. In these instances, any unpaid insurance balance will become your responsibility.
We recommend contacting your insurance provider before making changes.
Dual Insurance Coverage
If you are covered under two plans they may work together to share costs.
Typically:
One plan is primary, often determined by the birthday rule. This policy is based on the month and day of birth of each policy holder, with the primary having the birthday that falls earliest in the calendar year. The second plan may contribute toward the remaining balance; however, coverage varies by plan.
It is important to remember, not all plans coordinate benefits and some will not consider payments in excess of the primary policy’s coverage.
Flexible Payment Options
We believe finances should never stand in the way of care and will do our best to offer flexible payment options.
We offer:
- Flexible, in-house payment plans
- Low down payment options
- Interest-free monthly payments
We understand you may have unique individual needs and will customize a plan that works for you. Let us know if you have any questions about insurance, financing, or payment options. We are happy to assist!
